I guess most new spells to come might possibly be non-creature spells but they will still be competing for room in our starting hand! Dispel and Teleport turned out to be gems!. Still it might be interesting seeing how the game would play out with more spells. I even quite liked that time there were fewer spells than there are now (when some were withdrawn to be re-animated), there seemed to be a nice simple distribution of the remaining spells and I noticed as spells were put back in and more were added the distribution of receiving things regular enough (like bolts ) kept diminishing, but it's way better with the current variety on offer. I suppose one way to get extra creature variety or re-skins to work without totally diluting the spell/deck would be to just say rather than having a chance of drawing a Unicorn and a Horse in the same hand, Or a Skeleton and a Spectre, you can only draw either/or, so the current chances of drawing an even mixture of spells is retained. Harpies, Wraiths and Gryphons are pretty cool though!, I just went through the list of other 'missing' ones, there's some good neutral ones that could really bolster CR armies like, Croc, Bear, Gorilla etc. Imagine 80+ spells with an average deck size of under 20! the spell/deck dilution would be huge, it would almost be a different kind of game. I think a limited deck has made the game more skill based like Texas Hold 'Em rather than those Top Trumps type of games with hundreds of spell cards.

Rather than an expanded variety meaning virtual re-skins of existing spells, it's good to Identify any key areas that maybe have a gap in the market that actually needs filling, like when Paladins and Hounds came in and brought something distinctively different from other units. Generally I like the less is more policy, there's often just the right amount of complexity within a medium range of options (the Goldilocks zone), it's great the way they have stripped the spells back to just some unique specific types. Magic fire is going to be interesting, a late addition and possibly a big game changer to.
